It's odd that somebody is writing this on a personal level: Shahid on Swara's letter
Swara Bhaskar published an open letter to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, slamming the director, and telling him that she felt ‘reduced to a vagina’ while watching his magnum opus.
She also had an issue with the glorification of jauhar in the movie Padmaavat. When quizzed on the letter, Shahid Kapoor, who played Raja Rawal Ratan Singh in the movie shrugs, “I got to know that Swara has written a letter, but honestly, I haven’t read it yet. It’s a long letter, and whatever her issue, it’s with Sanjay Sir. Padmaavat represents the whole industry; it expresses freedom of expression and freedom of speech.”
Shahid goes on to add, “It’s been a tough battle to release the film, and I think that the entire film industry is with us. So, it’s a little odd that somebody is writing (this) on a personal level. But everybody has the right to say what they want to. But I’ve not read that.”
