Britney Spears' death rumours
Washington: Twitter accounts of Sony Music were reportedly hacked on Monday. “Britney spears is dead by accident! we will tell you more soon,” the @SonyMusicGlobal account read before the tweets were deleted. A rep for Spears confirmed to CNN that the singer was, in fact, still alive.
A representative for Sony confirmed the tweets were part of a hack, saying: “The twitter was hacked and the tweets are now deleted. Britney Spears is alive and well.”
The official Twitter account of Bob Dylan may also have been hacked as the Nobel-winning musician’s account appeared to be the first to pick up on Britney’s death. It tweeted “Rest in peace @britneyspears” at around the same time as the tweets from the Sony account, the CNN said.
According to the Verge, OurMine — the group that hacked Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s Quora account and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s social media accounts — is behind Monday’s incident.
