Sudha Kongara's next based on a true story
Sudha Kongara seems to be a sought-after director after she gave back-to-back hits —Irudhi Suttru with Madhavan in Tamil, and its Telugu remake, Guru, with Venkatesh. Rumours were rife that Sudha will be helming a project for producer AM Rathnam and that the latter wants Sivakarthikeyan or Vijay Sethupathi as the lead hero. When we contacted Sudha, she said it was news to her and rubbished it. “I am in the final stage of finishing my script for my next film. I don’t know from where these rumours arise. I am not doing a film for AM Rathnam sir in the first place to confirm Siva or Sethupathi in the film.”
Talking about her next, she says, “The story is inspired from a true-life incident that took place in south Tamil Nadu. It is very big in terms of its scale and budget. I am looking at roping in a very intelligent leading star to pull off the character. It will be a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu. Thanks to the magic word ‘success’, which changes anyone’s fortunes for good, I am not the same Sudha as I was seven years ago.”
