Visiri director peeved
Director Vetri Mahalingam, who has given films like Arunbu Meesai Kurumbu Paarvai and Vennila Veedu, is miffed with associations and big producers who claim that they would help small films for their release, but in reality they did nothing when his latest movie Visiri hit the marquee on Feb 2.
Talking about his predicament, Vetri says, “I informed much in advance that my movie Visiri will be hitting the screens on February 2 and started working towards it. At the last minute, the makers of yet another big hero's film announced that they are also releasing on the same day. So, we couldn’t get decent theatres and those who earlier promised backed out! Visiri could hardly get even one show in B and C centres. I have imparted a message to Ajith and Vijay fans through Visiri. But, in the present scenario, how will it reach the audiences? Under prevailing conditions, who would come forward to make small films,” he asks.
