Actress Athulya Ravi, the petite actress, who made her debut with Kadhal Kan Kattudhe, has caught the attention of people through her subtle and realistic acting. She has now signed her next film, which will be helmed by VZ Durai of Mugavaree fame.
Speaking to DC, a source in the know tells us, “Director VZ Durai felt that Athulya would be perfect for the role he had envisioned. When he narrated the story to Athulya, she was impressed with the script. She will be playing the female lead in the film titled A-maali (a combination of Tamil and English letters) and since it is a four-layered script, she has a lot of scope to perform.”
Shooting of this venture is expected to commence by the end of April.
Samuthirakani is required to allot bulk dates for the movie as he will be seen in four different get-ups.
“Since Kani is busy helming Akasha Mittayi (Malayalam remake of Appa) in Kerala, he will shoot for the film after he completes his current commitments,” another source adds.
There is also a second lead in the movie and the team is finalising the rest of the cast. VZ Durai is introducing Sam D as the composer for this venture. As reported earlier, the music director has already finished composing three songs for the film.
