Chandran and Anandhi, who were introduced by ace director Prabhu Solomon, in his movie Kayal, are coming together yet again after three years, for a road trip thriller, titled Roobai (Money). Directed by Anbazhagan, who gave the critically acclaimed film Saattai, the new film revolves around four characters played by Chandran, Kishore Ravichandran, Chinnie Jayanth and Anandhi.
Says Anbhazhagan, “The subject of the film is greed for money. It’s about two friends, who make a living by driving a lorry. In a bid to avoid the loan shark from whom they have borrowed money, run away to Chennai from their native town of Theni. They land in trouble while attempting a shortcut to earn money.”
Keeping in mind the advice of his mentor Prabhu Solomon, who also has co-produced Roobai, he has made the film a commercial entertainer, which will be enjoyed by family audiences.
