Over the last few days, the alleged suicide attempt by prominent actor Babloo Prithiveeraj created lots of stir, after a Whatsapp audio of him, speaking about him planning to end his life, went viral. Much to everyone’s relief, it was later found that the audio was a part of a short film, which was Babloo’s directorial debut for YouTube channel Madras Meter.
Speaking to DC, the multi-faceted actor rubbished the rumours and said that he was happy to do something inspirational for society. “No matter how hard life can be at times, suicide can never be the solution. In fact, I had at one point of time reached such a low that I had only Rs 80 with me and not even a place to stay. But, I was determined to get through that phase,” he says. Clarifying about the Whatsapp leak, he explains, “I had actually sent it for audio correction. But, unfortunately, it somehow leaked to wrong hands. I received lots of calls, as people were shocked.”
But, he expressed his happiness that this had at least led to people watching his short film — “Some good things always comes out of bad. The controversy actually helped the message reach a large number of people. I got complementary messages from all over the world. Though I have acted in numerous films and won several awards, doing something of this sort and succeeding makes me happy. This would only encourage me with such good initiatives,” he concludes.
