Queen remake is still on: Thiagarajan
Actor-cum-producer Thiagarajan, who secured the remake rights of Hindi film Queen tells DC that the Tamil remake is on. Tamannaah, who was brought on board to reprise Kangana Ranaut’s role in the remake, had been quoted earlier saying that the film had been shelved.
However, Thiagarajan asserts, “Irrespective of whether Tamannaah is doing the lead or not, the project will go on floors in May. We haven’t paid her any advance till now. She seemed very interested — but I met her father and manager once and I could not afford the remuneration they demanded. I had a different budget for it. Things did not work out with her! But that doesn’t mean I am shelving the project.”
“Considering the scale of the movie, which has to be done in four languages, we are in the process of freezing directors for the other languages. We have completed the script work of the remake. Revathy and Suhasini are working in Tamil version,” he adds.
