Ivan Thanthiran to be remade
Director Kannan’s Ivan Thanthiran is one of the very few films to have a double release. The film’s theatre run was cut short due to the implementation of double taxation in Tamil Nadu. After sorting the issues with the state government, the film starring Gautham Karthik, Shraddha Srinath and RJ Balaji was released yet again and is going strong in theatres.
Now, the latest update is that the movie is going to be remade in Telugu. A source close to the director reveals, “Talks about a possible Telugu remake is underway and we are yet to finalise the cast and crew. Kannan sir will be at the helm and he is on cloud nine about the positive response the film is receiving. Since the negotiation is still in the initial stages, we won’t be able to reveal anything further.”
Ivan Thanthiran is about two engineering dropouts played by Gautham Karthik and RJ Balaji. The duo finds out the wrong doings of a corrupt education minister and exposes him on social media. The minister (played by stunt choreographer Super Subbarayan) is in the process of proving himself innocent and begins to search for the men who tarnished his image among the public.
