Meesaya Murukku is sort of Aadhi's biography: Sundar C
Meesaya Murukku is the debut vehicle of music composer Hiphop Aadhi, as a lead actor and a filmmaker. Aathmika, a known face on YouTube, essays his pair. Produced by Sundar C under Avni Movies, the Sangamithra director explains why he chose to make this movie.
“I met Aadhi four years ago, during Clubla Mabbula song release. I thought he belonged to an affluent family and was wasting his parents’ money on making music videos. Later, I was on the look-out for a composer for one of the songs in Vishal-starrer Ambala, as I had chosen four other composers for the rest of the album. Aadhi played all the songs from private albums in his studio and insisted that he would do the entire Ambala album — and I agreed! From then on, I call him thambi.”
On MM, Sundar says, “One day, Aadhi narrated this story to me. It was sort of his biography and how he came up in life. I liked it and told him I would produce it myself. Of course, he has added some masala elements to make it commercial. Except Vivekh sir, who plays Aadhi’s dad, I gave him freedom to choose his cast and crew. Most of them are YouTube stars and actors from his music videos.”
