I look for unique roles: Varun
Varun, who played an auto-driver in Oru Naal Iravil, has bagged meaty roles in Jayam Ravi’s Bogan and Vikram Prabhu’s Neruppu Da. Talking about his role in Bogan, Varun said, “I play a cop along with Ravi and Akshara Gowda of Stylish Thamizhachi fame. Bogan revolves around Arvind Swami and I will be sharing the screen with Ravi in the first half and Arvind Swami in the second half. Both of them play equally important roles in the movie.”
He further added that he gained around 10 kilos to essay the role of a cop. Varun also observed the mannerisms of an assistant commissioner to incorporate it in his acting. The actor says, “It is fun being on the sets of Bogan. Ravi, Arvind Swami, and I have a ball of time teasing each other during shoot breaks.”
Elaborating on Vikram Prabhu’s Neruppu Da, he stated, “The movie is a dual hero project and I play the second lead. This flick has a serious script and the director has incorporated situational comedy to ease the seriousness. Shooting is currently underway at a housing board in OMR. The film is about private fire fighters who struggle to become Government certified.”
In Neruppu.., Varun will get to do a lot of action sequences and he is eagerly looking forward to perform stunts on his own. Presently, some important scenes as well as comedy scenes are being shot. Varun is also shooting for his solo lead project, Vinodhan, which will be wrapped in 10 days. The actor believes he is choosy when it comes to picking his projects. “I want to do characters that are unique and interesting,” he says and signs off.
