Ashwin Kakumanu, who was last seen in the fantasy horror film, Zero, recently got married to his girlfriend Sonali. The actor is now gearing up for a fruitful 2017 as he has three films in different stages of production.
Speaking to us, Ashwin says, “Thiri is a political thriller with ample family sentiments. The film will also explore father (played by Jayaprakash) and son relationship. It is about a middle-class guy, who is unsure of what do after graduation. At that time, he gets stuck in a problem and how he manages to come out of it forms the crux.”
The Vedalam actor believes that this film has a lot of scope for performance. “I had to observe my director Ashok Amritharaj’s action and act accordingly. Since the film has mixed genres, I need to show various emotions, which was challenging,” explains Ashwin.
While Thiri is gearing up for release, the talented actor also has Thollaikatchi and Idhu Vedalam Sollum Kadhai in the pipeline. “The former is a light-hearted comedy set in a village backdrop, while the latter is a fantasy thriller with mythological elements. Idhu Vedalam… has cinematographer Roberto Zazzara and actor Darren Burridge (who plays the villain) as part of the team. The second schedule of the film will commence by the end of January,” he concludes.
