Miya plays an actress in Yaman
Fresh from the success of recently released Rum, where she plays a ghost, actress Miya George is now gearing up for her next release of the year, Yaman. Directed by Jeeva Shankar, Yaman is a political thriller starring Vijay Antony, Thiagarajan and Sangili Murugan in prominent roles. Ahead of the film’s release, Miya is all excited.
Speaking to DC, she says, “It was Jeeva Shankar who introduced me to Kollywood with his film Amara Kaaviyam. While I played a sober character in that film, I play Anjana, an actress in Yaman. He has given me two performance-oriented roles in my career and I am really thankful to him. I don’t think my real self is similar to that of my on-screen character.”
Elaborating more about her character, she quips, “I have a solo song in Yaman, which I am really looking forward to seeing on screen. Many important events in the film revolve around me and I have huge scope for performance. Vijay Antony is portrayed as a politician and our scenes have come out exceptionally well.”
The actress is all surprised to see Vijay Antony dedicate his entire day to work. “He is multi-talented and he works 24X7. It’s surprising to see a person spending so much time on work. He is a simple, down-to-earth person and it feels comfortable to work with Vijay Antony,” she asserts.
The Oru Naal Koothu actress feels lucky to get a variety of roles in her career. “Naturally, every heroine would love to do different characters in their tenure as an actress. I am no different! I want to sport different looks for my movies and I clearly understand that it’s difficult to show such difference in every film I get to do. With the characters I have received so far, I feel that I am lucky indeed,” she concludes.
Miya is now excited about her Telugu debut, Ungarala Rambabu with Sunil and an untitled Malayalam film which will commence by April.
