Director R. Balki always collaborates with Ilayaraja for the music of his films. And, it’s no surprise that the legendary music director has also composed music for Balki’s new film, Ki and Ka. But the director approached T Series to produce the music of the film, which has happened for the first time and no other music label has done this before.
Talking about why he always collaborates, with Ilayaraja all the time, R. Balki said, “Simply because Ilayaraja is the expert in music — his sense of music and his talent is unmatched.” So, what made him approach T Series to produce the music of the film? He says, “We have never had that in the past and I wanted to make a statement. A music director composes the background score of the film, whether he contributes any songs for the film or not. In this case, there is a song by him as well.” He adds, “The label that produces the music has to have an expertise so I approached T Series. It’s an entire process, so the production was done by T Series. There were experiments, but there wasn’t a lot of running back and forth and it’s obviously an easier way to do it,” he sums up.
