After churning out two blockbuster hits, Atlee’s third directorial, which is tentatively called Vijay 61, is finally taking shape. We had earlier reported that the film boasts an ensemble star cast including SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Jyothika. The latest addition to the cast now, is actor Sathyan, who has been a regular in Vijay’s films.
Speaking to DC, Sathyan says, “Yes, I have been roped in to play a pivotal role in Vijay 61. I can’t reveal much about my character right now. I will join the sets from March.” While it was reported that Vadivelu and Soori have been approached to provide comic relief, an official confirmation on the same is still awaited.
Meanwhile, a source close to the team shares, “Shooting of Vijay 61 will go on floors on February 2 in Chennai. Currently, the set works are underway in the city.” The Bairavaa actor will be sporting a twirled moustache in the film.
It is also said that the team will shoot some portions in the US and UK during April and May. Produced by Sri Thenandal Films, this film has editor Ruben and debutant cinematographer Vishnu as part of the technical team.
