Bold and beautiful Shraddha Srinath!
Though Shraddha Srinath appeared in a brief role in Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, she is most excited about Ivan Thanthiran, her debut film as a heroine. In a quick chat, she talks about her engaging role, working with director Kannan and co-stars Gautham and RJ Balaji.. “After watching my Kannada film U Turn, director Kannan narrated the story of Ivan Thanthiran, and wanted me to attend the auditions in Chennai. He selected me after seeing me perform to two difficult scenes I was given during the screen test,” Shraddha says with a smile.
She adds, “My character in Ivan Thanthiran is in stark contrast to my role in U Turn. Here, I play Asha, a hard working girl belonging to a middle-class background. The plot is how Asha is affected by the prevailing educational system and political problems associated with it. I loved the way it has shaped up.” On her co-star, Gautham Karthik, she quips, “He is shy and very quiet on the sets. He is a caring person and each time I get my lengthy dialogues correct, he would appreciate me. That gives me motivation to perform better.”
Shraddha and RJ Balaji knew each other already as they worked together in Kaatru Veliyidai — “Since I shared screen space with him in my first Tamil movie, I used to chat and get to know more about Tamil cinema.”
Talking about Kannan, she states, “He is a workaholic and I have heard that he would portray his female leads as bold and beautiful. In IT too, my role is different. I am sure the movie will be liked by everyone.”
