Making actors sing!
Music director LV Muthukumar, who’s awaiting the release of the Anu Hasan starrer Valladesam, has composed a song titled I’m Single. He has in fact made Harish Kalyan of Vil Ambu fame sing for it, too.
Muthu says, “Harish was interested in singing. We were jamming recently together when this idea struck us. Everything happened on the spot. He wrote the lyrics and sang the song, while I composed the music. It is about being high on love.”
He adds, “The song deals with the feelings of a single boy who is looking for a relationship, and how love makes the world go round and gives you a rare, heady feeling. We will be releasing the song on Harish’s birthday online, which falls on June 29.”
Also, on July 1, he’s planning to release another single titled Bake-u Paiyyan, which has been sung by actor Shanthnu.
Quiz Muthu on why he’s keen on roping in more actors for independent albums, and he answers — “It’s no secret that celebs enjoy a certain leverage in matters of quality, mostly because of their curiosity. The actor-turns-singer phenomenon is certainly not new. Some people love expressing themselves in different ways, and singing is a passion commonly pursued. It is good to see actors coming forward to sing. It makes the song more realistic and enjoyable,” he concludes.
