Malayalam actress abduction: Kavya Madhavan quizzed on missing links'

Kochi: The Special Investigation Team probing the actor abduction and sexual assault case questioned Kavya Madhavan, Dileep’s wife, for nearly five hours on Tuesday, especially on the “missing links” with regard to the conspiracy. A team of senior officials reached the ancestral house of Dileep at Aluva at 11 a.m. and confronted her with new evidence, especially the forensic report of the “missing” CCTV images of the apparel store at Kakkanad. The SIT has images of Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni visiting the shop.

Earlier, Suni had told the police that he had handed over the memory card at the shop but the cops failed to recover it despite conducting inspection and questioning the staff there. During the process, they found that the CCTV recording of the same was missing. Later, the investigating officials led by ADGP B. Sandhya held a meeting at the Aluva police club to assess the progress of the investigation. The SIT intends to file an additional chargesheet before 90 days from the registration of FIR in the case. However, it’s yet to recover the mobile phone and the original SIM card used to record the assault of the actor on Feb. 17.
