At a time when actors are ditching television to pursue their Bollywood dreams, actress Surbhi Chandna is doing it the other way. The Ishqbaaz actress was last seen in the film Bobby Jasoos with Vidya Balan. Switching to television from films was a choice she happily made, reveals Surbhi.
“Even though I had some tempting offers from Bollywood, I chose to do Ishqbaaz. I know people will think I am crazy, but I honestly feel television offers more scope to an actor than films do. The kind of popularity it gives you is unparalleled. TV has a greater reach than movies any day. Every second day, we have film integrations happening on the sets and many Bollywood celebrities come to promote their films on our show. Big or small, every film needs television to spread the word. Even a superstar like Amitabh Bachchan time and again makes his presence felt on television. I think I would rather be famous on television then keep doing character roles in films. I am sure you would also agree that it’s a wise decision,” she says.
