Anushka Shetty has shed 18 kilos for her role in Bhagamati, a Telugu-Tamil supernatural thriller. Aadhi Pinisetty has been roped in to play the male lead in this heroine-centric film while Mollywood star Jayaram is making his Telugu debut.
Talking to DC, choreographer-turned-director Ashok G., who is also set for the release of his bilingual Yaar Nee with Anjali, says, “I have taken the plot from real life characters; it is not a historical drama, but a modern day thriller. Anushka has drastically pulled down and will be looking glamorous as well as demure in the movie. People will be able to relate to all the characters in the film”.
Bollywood actress Tabu too might be part of the film. Says Ashok: “True! Talks are on with her for a crucial role. Tabu heard the narration and was happy to be part of the project. But since her dates are clashing with her present B’town film, she is yet to sign on the dotted line. If not Tabu, we would go in for an actress like Asha Sarath. Shooting will start from June 15 in Hyderabad.
