Prabhas opens up on rumours of marriage, link-up with Anushka Shetty

Mumbai: After the question, ‘when will Salman Khan get married?’ was left unanswered in the last few decades, it seems anticipation for Prabhas’ marriage has been the maximum in recent years, especially since the blockbuster success of ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion.’

Reports of the Telugu superstar rejecting 6000 marriage proposals or that he was tying the knot with an Engineering student have been doing the rounds for a long time, but the actor has now cleared the air surrounding his ‘impending’ marriage.

“At present, my (female) fans don’t need to worry,” Prabhas told Hindustan Times.

“I’m not doing any such thing (getting married) now. I’m not even thinking about it," he added, “I feel lucky that so many people admire me.”

His ‘Baahubali’ co-star Rana Daggubati might have tried all devious tricks to get him killed in the film, but in real life, had famously posted a hilarious ‘Baahubali’-themed matrimonial ad for him earlier this year.

When asked about it, Prabhas quipped, “Did (Rana) say I am getting married?”

The ‘Mother-in-law who is currently under rigorous imprisonment’ mentioned above in the ad is none other than Devasena aka Anushka Shetty, who has been romantically linked to Prabhas for a considerable amount of time now.

About the link-up rumours, Prabhas said, “Such stories are common." He added, “I was, in fact, expecting this. If you work with one (female) actor in more than two films, then people tend to start spreading such rumours. It’s normal for me now. Earlier, I used to feel bad and say, ‘How could they write this?’ But now, such stories don’t bother me. I am okay with them.”

Fans, who loved the couple in ‘Baahubali’ would be a disappointed lot but would be hoping they come together again in ‘Saaho’, with reports of the actress being in and out of the project doing the rounds.
