A hunt in Georgia led to the team finding two DOPs, Gika Chelidze and Bakur Chikobava, who have worked for the last 20 years on French, English, Georgian and Turkish films.
Recently, when the team of Rajasekhar’s upcoming film PSV Garuda Vega was flying to Georgia for a month-long schedule, the cinematographer’s father fell sick, forcing him to head back home. Of course, it was devastating for the producer, who had spent crores of rupees on the schedule.
In order to ensure that the producer didn’t suffer a loss, the team had to either cancel the shoot or find a replacement at the eleventh hour. That’s when a hunt in Georgia led to the team finding two DOPs, Gika Chelidze and Bakur Chikobava, who have worked for the last 20 years on French, English, Georgian and Turkish films. Seems like they can all now heave a sigh of relief!
