Mahesh Babu is a huge fan of veteran Tamil/Telugu actor Sathyaraj who plays his father in Brahmotsavam. “Working with a senior actor like him was a great learning experience,” says the superstar.
Sharing an incident, Mahesh says that on the first day of shooting, when Sathyaraj came to the sets, director Srikanth Addala was trying to explain a particular emotion to him in broken Tamil.
“I am fluent in Tamil and without any second thought I just conveyed the emotions to Sathyaraj sir. Later, I was worried about how he would take my interference, but to my surprise, he was very simple and down-to-earth and took it very sportively,” says Mahesh.
“After shooting he would sit calmly and never comment or discuss scenes with anyone. That’s the greatest quality in him. I learnt a lot from him. After 15 or 20 years, if I am able to be like him, I will be happy,” adds Mahesh.
He says that he also told Sathyaraj that he had liked him in Vikram. “He shared his experiences with me,” adds Mahesh.
Another senior actress, Revathi, plays Mahesh Babu’s mother in Brahmotsavam. The film incidentally is releasing in more screens than any of Mahesh Babu’s previous films and is being touted to be a big hit by trade pundits.
