When Lakshmi Menon made a choice to play Ajith’s sister in Vedalam, many dissuaded her saying, ‘There’s an unwritten law in the industry that onscreen sisters will always be offered the same and cannot come back to play the heroine’.
However, the actress was firm in her decision. Now disproving the myth, she is teaming up with Vijay Sethupathi for Rekka. Rathinasiva, whose other movie Vaa Deal with Arun Vijay is yet to hit the marquee, is directing this film. Ganesh, who earlier made Sethupathi’s critically-acclaimed flick Orange Mittai is producing Rekka.
Touted to be a full-fledged commercial entertainer, the film will start rolling once Vijay Sethupathi completes his present commitments including Aandavan Kattalai. One may recall that Lakshmi was the forerunner to play the female lead for the Pizza star’s recently launched movie Dharmadurai, but in the last minute Tamannaah replaced her. Meanwhile, Lakshmi’s much-anticipated film Miruthan with Jayam Ravi, is soon to hit the cinema halls.
