Famous artistes' work adorn walls of Chennai rail museum
Chennai: Renowned artist Maniam Selvam finishing his painting ‘Progression’ that depicts movement in a contemporary form.
‘Progression’ expresses the very essence of ICF where both manual and automated efforts contribute equally towards the achievement of India’s pride.
“It reflects the determined efforts of women and men working round the clock with high precision to deliver a successful product day after day. Every comfortable train journey that we undertake reminds us the sweat & hard labor of so many people for which we are forever indebted,” said the artist.
The painting was part of an exhibition ‘Skein Of Trains’, at Chennai Rail Museum organised an Árt Camp on Sunday, where 10 renowned artists sketched a canvas each.
‘Children Graffiti’, an event exclusively for school children, was a part of this camp. Artist Maniam Selvam was one of the many artistes who brought in their ideas in colour on to the canvas.
Bharatanatyam dancer Padmashri Chitra Visweswaran, actress Rohini, artists M.S. Murthy and Arjuna Awardee athlete Gnanasekaran were present at the camp.
