Doctor recommends 4 remedies for that pesky hangover
Headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea and grumpiness are good indicators that you may have had a few too many the night before.
While the evening may have been a hit, the morning hangover might be the last thing you need.
Have you tried everything and not been able to cure it? If so, 24-year-old Dr Emeka Okorocha has you covered in this department.
In a report in the BBC, the University of East Anglia graduate reveals just the remedy you need after consuming a bit too much alcohol.
1. Virgin bloody Mary
The tomatoes in the drink contain fructose. It is a sugar that can help your body metabolise alcohol faster and get it out of your system. "It also contains vitamins and minerals, which help fight inflammation and rehydrate your body and brain," Dr Okorocha told the BBC.
2. Honey and banana sandwich
Alcohol in your body increases urination, which increases potassium excretion that causes dehydration, the report revealed. Honey will boost sugar in your bloodstream, while bananas provide electrolyte.
3. Ginger Tea
Ginger can help soothe stomach upsets. Previous studies have shown it can help treat pain and ease headaches.
4. Water
It might just be the best known remedy. But water can do wonders to treat a hangover as dehydration is the primary cause of one. Drinking lots of fluids is important. Dr Okorocha also recommends drinking water before you go out and a glass for every drink you've had after.
