Star powers go green: Tollywood celebrities support Haritha Haram initiative
Tollywood celebrities took to gardens and parks across Hyderabad to show their support for the Telangana government’s initiative Haritha Haram on Monday.
While Chiranjeevi planted saplings along with schoolchildren others did so around the city.
Nagarjuna and his wife Amala Akkineni, who planted saplings at Annapurna Studios and Kukatpally respectively, Allu Arjun at his residence in Jubilee Hills, Rana Daggubati at Ramanaidu Studios in Nanakramguda and Regina Cassandra at KBR Park.
Speaking to DC, Allu Arjun said, “When we do something good, people immediately follow it. I made my son Ayaan to plant a tree today and I hope everyone does the same with their kids. My uncle K. Chandrasekhar Reddy (MLA) told me that the government planned to plant 25 lakh trees and I told him that I will definitely participate in the programme, because it’s one of my favourite things to do,”
A few of the stars even told their followers on social media to do the same, such as Rakul Preet, who tweeted “I did my bit.Let’s all plant 1 tree each n make a diff! @LakshmiManchu I nominate u.Let’s create a wave of fresh air.”
