Heartwarming story: Man leaves engineering job to become a taxi driver
What could be better than a motivating story to start your day. This story posted by Humans of Bombay will make you believe that there is good in this world and will inspire you to do something better for mankind.
"I am 74-years-old, can speak 11 languages, have children who work in private equity firms, and have the qualification to be an advanced engineer," says a resident of Mumbai resident on Humans of Bombay Facebook page. But this is not the reason that you need to know his story.
"My wife had suffered from a miscarriage, when one night she felt a sudden pain in her abdomen. At that time of the night, no cab stopped for us and that process frustrated me," the post said.
That day changed his life and the way he thought, he left his job as an engineer at Larsen and Toubo where he earned 65,000 every month to become a taxi driver.
"I earn 10,000 rupees a month from general passengers, but my aim is to help those in need at any hour of the day. Whoever sits in my cab gets my card and can contact me even at 3 in the morning with an emergency and I will take them to their destination," he explains in the post.
No matter what the time is or what situation it is, he will always reach out to anyone who needs his help. “Whether the 26th July floods, or the night of 26/11, I have made sure to reach locations where people need me. I believe that everything is not about money.”
