Bengaluru: Man stabs Jaggesh's son, people take pictures, videos
Bengaluru: In a case of road rage, Sandalwood actor and former BJP MLC Jaggesh’s son, actor Gururaj, was stabbed with a knife by a man on Monday morning in R.T. Nagar. The actor, who sustained injuries in his thigh, was treated at a private hospital and was discharged. The incident took place around 9 am when Gururaj was on his way to drop his son to school in his car.
Another car, allegedly being driven rashly by Shivshankar, hit Gururaj's car, leaving it slightly damaged. When Gururaj questioned him, Shivshankar picked up a fight and stabbed the actor in the thigh even as the crowd looked on. Gururaj was rushed to a private hospital, where the doctors sewed up the wound with eight stitches.
After getting discharged from the hospital, Gururaj said that he was disappointed with the attitude of the people in responding to such incidents. "It all happened in broad daylight and in front of a number of people. None came to our help. Most of the people were busy taking videos, Gururaj said.
The victim's father Jaggesh said that while the police responded quickly, the public's apathy towards such incidents left him saddened. "People preferred to take pictures and videos of the incident than rushing in to help, even after the accused driver stabbed my son," he said.
DCP (North Division) Dr Chetan Singh Rathor said, "The accused driver fled from the spot after stabbing Gururaj and is absconding. We have his car registration number and we have accessed his address. A case has been registered at the R.T. Nagar police station and we are searching for him."
