Telangana: Traffic home guard who took' bribe to be sacked
HYDERABAD: A traffic home guard faces the sack after a video appearing to show him taking a bribe from a motorist surfaced on the Hyderabad traffic police Facebook page. The video shot at Himayatnagar purported to show M. Satya Vishnu, a home guard from the Narayanaguda traffic police station, taking a bribe at 4.30 pm on March 17 at Himayatnagar junction. The video was uploaded by Hyderabad resident Sridhar Vemula.
The Hyderabad traffic police replied to the post saying, “Action will be taken and he is being removed from the traffic department and disciplinary action will be taken as per rule.” A few persons wrote on the Facebook page that Himayatnagar was a “business point” of traffic police from 11 am to 2 pm. A few suggested that the home guard be suspended for at least a month. A senior traffic police official said the home guard had been surrendered to the Home Guards headquarters and process of removal from service had been initiated”.
