Karnataka: 7 cow vigilantes sexually assault women, held

Udupi: Seven people, allegedly from a vigilante group, have been arrested for attacking and trying to sexually harass women at a house in Tellar village of Karkala. The vigilante group members had gone to the house on Sunday as they suspected that cattle was being slaughtered illegally.
An argument ensued between the gang and the family in the house. The group members allegedly assaulted the women in the house, who filed a complaint of sexual harassment. A case under IPC Section 354, 143, 147, 148, 447, 448, 323, 504, 506 read with 149 has been registered at the Karkala Rural police station.
