Kansas shooting: Srinivas was humble, punctual, say teachers
Hyderabad: On Tuesday, scores of students from Srinivas Kuchibhotla’s alma mater, the St. Francis de Sales high school at Lallaguda, attended a prayer ceremony to remember the man teachers described as a “humble student”.
Growing up near Maula Ali, Srinivas was part of the school from LKG to Class 10. And his teachers had very fond memories of the boy who was almost never late to class.
“It’s been two decades but I clearly remember how good he was at studies. He was humble and possessed excellent leadership qualities which is why he was once made class leader,” Ms. Jessie Jose, who taught Srinivas maths in Classes 6 and 7 said.
Teachers were also sure the boy would go on and carve out a good career for himself. The school’s administration staff too spoke highly of Srinivas and his brother. “For 11 years, the brothers were never late and used to come to school early. Srinivas was a disciplined student,” G. Peter Cardoz, a senior clerk at the school, said. Other teachers and support staff said they had clear memories of Srinivas, the student.
“Hundreds of students pass out every year from this school but we remember only a few. Srinivas passed out in 1999 and we remember him very well,” another staff member said. Srinivas and his two brothers studied at the school before pursuing their higher education.
ORR brings Srinivas home for the last time
Hundreds gathered outside the home of Srinivas Kuchibhotla at Khajipur on Tuesday, to pay their respects. Wife Sunayana Dumala remained inconsolable as the final rites were performed at Jubilee Hills.
Meanwhile, the Outer Ring Road, a crucial link for the Kuchibhotla family whenever their children came home from the airport served its purpose for the last time on Tuesday when Srinivas’ body traveled 40 km on it to reach his house in the city. When he left for the States 10 years ago, the ORR was under construction and later, had become the first sign of home for Srinivas.
