Hyderabad: The 1912 call centre for power supply was flooded with dozens of complaints from residents. Staff said at 100 feeders had tripped, resulting in a breakdown of power supply.
Officials said supply was being restored The GHMC received several complaints of fallen trees. The gusts also tore down advertising posters. Heavy rain and strong winds was reported in Rahmathnagar, Borabanda, Banjara Hills, Masab Tank, Secunderabad and Begumpet.
Traffic jams were reported at almost all major city junctions. Rain was reported all over the state. The forecast for Tuesday is light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places. Most places in the state are likely to record maximum temperature between 40ºC and 44ºC.
