Chandrababu Naidu blamed for Kapu violence at Tuni

Mudragada wants Naidu to be made main accused, says fight will go on.

Kakinada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should take the blame for Sunday’s violent incidents as the Telugu Desam had brought in antisocial elements to create trouble and disrupt the peaceful Kapu agitation for inclusion in the BC list, Kapunadu leader Mudragada Padmanabham told this newspaper at Kirlampudi on Monday.

The Kapu leader said that the Chief Minister was the main accused in the violent incidents while he (Mr Padmanabham) was the main accused for the rasta roko and rail roko.

He made it clear that the Kapus who were following him would not cross the line and create violence.

“Our aim is to achieve BC status and get Rs 1,000 crore per year for Kapus’ welfare as was promised by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu during the last elections.

“We need not become violent. But in recent times, the TD and the government gave several instructions regarding the Kapu Garjana meeting like not to supply drinking water, buses and others. Vexed with the government’s behaviour, I took a decision to come on the roads and railway tracks,” he said.

He made it clear that the police and media were not the community’s enemies, but some managements had provoked the Kapu volunteers and mocked them. He said that he “excuses the police and media for it”.

CM responsible for violence: Mudragada
“After coming to know about the violent incidents last night, I withdrew my agitation and instructed the activists to go to their homes. My intention was not to create violence,” Mudragada Padmanabham said.

Later, he told reporters that Mr Naidu was an expert in shifting the blame to other parties or other leaders for his mistakes, but his party and the government should take responsibilities.

The entire blame for the violence should be taken by the Chief Minister and the ruling party, he said, adding that he had written four or five letters to Mr Chandrabau Naidu since June, but he did not get a reply for even a single letter.

“If the Chief Minister promised one month or so for inclusion of Kapus, the present incidents could have been avoided,” he said.

He also found fault with Mr Naidu’s statement that there was no money for releasing funds for Kapus.

He said that the CM spent crores of rupees on luxuries and on the Pattiseema project which was not mentioned in the manifesto and asked how he managed to find funds for his unnecessary programmes and projects.
