Hyderabad: The Telangana state government will be implementing the semester system in all the degree colleges in the state from the ensuing academic year. The Telangana State Council for Higher Education is taking steps in this direction.
All universities have been told to ensure the smooth transition to the new pattern of study. The semester system will be implemented for the fresh batches, students in senior years will not be brought under the new system.
TSCHE chairman N. Papi Reddy stated the decision was taken following the Telangana state government agreeing to to implement the Choice Based Credit System from the 2016-17 academic year. He said the syllabus for BSc, BA, BCom and other courses will be revised accordingly.
“The syllabus revision is overdue since the last time it was done was four years ago,” he said.
