Power cut didn't lead to deaths, says Telangana government
Mr Kulaste added that according to Telangana government, on an average, at least 25 deaths occur daily at the hospital.
Hyderabad: Minister of State for Health, Faggan Singh Kulaste, in a written reply in Lok Sabha on Friday, maintained that the death of 21 patients at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad on July 22 cannot be attributed to power failure.
He said the Telangana government had formed a team to determine the cause of power interruption at the hospital and it was found that there was no truth in the media reports which had claimed the deaths were due to power failure. The statement follows a notice to Telangana officials from the National Human Rights Commission over the reported power failure. Mr Kulaste added that according to Telangana government, on an average, at least 25 deaths occur daily at the hospital.
