Heat wave causes huge rush at Kakinada GGH

KAKINADA: With the heat wave picking up, huge rush is being witnessed at the out-patient wing of the Kakinada Government General Hospital.

Since Monday, 2,500–3,000 patients have been queuing at the out-patient counters to register their names. Many patients are finding it difficult to stand in the queue due to heat wave.

Noticing the rush, hospital superintendent Dr. Hemalatha instructed staff to open the out-patient counters early, so that the rush could be cleared early. She said one or two additional counters will be opened to deal with the rush.

The hospital superintendent told Deccan Chronicle that Chalivendras have been arranged at the hospital. Philanthropists are providing both drinking water and butter milk to patients every day.
