Hyderabad: Two persons from Hyderabad who went fishing in a lake near Adibatla drowned in it. The duo were identified as Aamir Sohail and Yousuf.
Police said Aamir and Yousuf were residents of NTR Nagar in LB Nagar and are employees of private firms in LB Nagar.
On Thursday, the duo went for fishing in Masaab Lake in Turkayamjal located on the city's outskirts. While fishing, Aamir lost balance and fell into the lake, but as he did not know swimming he started drowning. Yousuf who was on the bank entered the lake to rescue Aamir, but he also drowned.
Some locals who saw the youth drowning alerted the police. Police rushed to the spot along with swimmers and recovered their bodies by Thursday night.
A suspicious death case was registered and their bodies were handed over to families after post-mortem.
