Depression in Bay of Bengal, cyclonic storm likely in coastal AP
Met officials predicted very heavy rainfall over coastal AP during the next 48 hours.
Visakhapatnam: The deep depression over west-central and adjoining south-west Bay of Bengal moved nearly northwards and lay centred 120 km east south-east of Nellore and 230 km south of Machilipatam. The system is likely to continue to move northwards along and off AP coast and likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by Thursday morning.
Met officials predicted very heavy rainfall or isolated extremely heavy falls over coastal AP during the next 48 hours. Rainfall at many places with isolated heavy to very heavy rains is likely over Rayalaseema districts during the next 24 hours, they added. The depression also caused heavy downpour in Nellore, Chittoor and parts of Prakasam.
