Vikram, studying in class 8 at Government higher secondary school at Nachiyarkoil, did not return from school on December 18.
The Dharmapuri district police suspect the death of a missing girl to be a case of murder, as her relatives allegedly hushed up the issue and planned to cremate her body without informing the police.
Kumbakonam: Body of 14-year- old Vikram, adopted son of Selvaraj and Bhavani of Krishnapuram near Kumbakonam, was found in a pond near the village on Tuesday evening.
Vikram, studying in class 8 at Government higher secondary school at Nachiyarkoil, did not return from school on December 18. Meanwhile, information that a body was found floating in the pond reached the parents searching for him. The body was identified as that of Vikram. The police has registered a case and are investigating whether he drowned when he went to the pond or killed by someone.
