Hyderabad: Akin to the death of Indian actress Sridevi Boney Kapoor, a woman from Neredmet, reportedly drowned in her bathtub after consuming alcohol during Dasara festivities.
The Neredmet police registered a case of suspicious death.
Neredmet inspector A. Narsimha Swamy said the incident took place during the early hours of Sunday at Ananthaiah Colony in RK Puram.
Anitha, her husband Dennie and their daughter Sai Archana, celebrated Dasara on Saturday. Anitha and Dennie consumed alcohol and slept at midnight.
At about 4 am when Dennie and Archana woke up, they found that Anitha had drowned in the bathtub. They then alerted Anitha’s mother Yadamma, who lives in Mettuguda, said the inspector added.
He said that based on a complaint from Yadamma, a case of suspicious death was registered and the police handed over Anitha’s body to her family members after a post-mortem at Gandhi Hospital.
