Survey: Social media most effective tool in branding employer
Chennai: According to a recently-conducted survey among various business leaders across the country in different sectors on the current trends in the Indian talent market, online professional networks and social media were found to be the most effective tools in branding an employer.
The survey that was conducted by CIEL Works for the last two months, an insight series from CIEL, an HR service company headquartered in Bengaluru, 39 per cent of the respondents voted for online professional networks, while 24 per cent favored social media tools like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and related tools.
Interestingly, half of the respondents did not deploy any such methods into practice. Commenting on the findings, Aditya Narayan Mishra, CEO, CIEL HR Services said, “As our economy picks up, the competition for talent will accentuate. CIEL Works has found the top factors impacting talent acquisition, onboarding and employer branding in an objective manner. In the light of these findings, organisations can review their efforts of employer branding and their employee value proposition.
Hike in salary is still the most important factor of negotiation while accepting an offers across levels. In all, 67 per cent of the respondents felt that for the entry level jobs salary hike is the most important factor.
