Hyderabad: Two students who were on a jolly trip to a lake in Sangareddy district drowned. The boys are Raju, 16, and Tarun, 18.Police said Raju and Tarun were cousins and were staying in Stalin Nagar. Raju’s parents died in his childhood and he was staying with grandparents. On Friday at around 3 pm, Raju, Tarun and two others, Sameer and Sidhu came to the Kotha Cheruvu to swim.
Raju entered the waters first and Tarun followed him while Sameer and Sidhu stayed out. Raju went into deep waters and started drowning. Tarun rushed to help and he also drowned. Meanwhile, Sameer and Sidhu who saw them drowning thought they were acting. But when they did not come out, they rushed back to their homes, but due to fear did not inform anyone.
The grandparents started searching for them. Later, Sameer informed his parents late in the night. Police recovered the bodies and handed them over after post-mortem.
