Fear of bombs made 8th man quit module
Hyderabad: Weeks before the ISIS gang was busted by the NIA, these men had a scary moment when they found that one of its eight members had deserted the group. They smelt a rat and all of them went into hiding. The deserter, Abdul Raoof alias Mohammed Almashrifi, was too scared of handling arms and engaging in terrorist activities and exited the group.
Mohammed Almashrifi was active in the gang’s earlier activities and he had also participated in the search for a land for the ISIS to do physical training somewhere in Hyderabad’s outskirts.
“Later, however, he got scared and managed an exit by disappearing on May 15. He had pledged the Bay'ah to Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi. He told the others that he was picked up by police. The others feared that cops might extract information about their activities and moved to some other states. They returned on May 20. One member, Habeeb Mohammed, had purchased two SIM cards and mobile phones using fake identities, for use while in hiding,” said the charge-sheet.
