Hyderabad: The Muslim graveyard at Malkajgiri is on the verge of being encroached. Nearly half the land has been encroached by the Railways and recently, rail officials carved a new road in between what is also property of the graveyard.
Muslim residents of Malkajgiri, who have been using the graveyard for over 60 years, say there has been no action despite complaints. “Records suggests the land should be nearly one acre. But with the intrusion the land left is very little,” says Sk. Mansoor, member of a Muslim welfare association. “TS government also gave its word on land allotment to graveyards but that has also not happened,” another resident said.
