Telangana takes back Reliance ADAG, Emaar land
Hyderabad: The TS government has initiated the process to take back land allotted to the controversial Emaar-MGF project and Reliance ADAG on the city’s outskirts.
While the Emaar project in Manikonda has been stuck in legal disputes for six years, Reliance ADAG has failed to build its 100-storey tower in Manchi-revula since 2007.
Industries minister Jupally Krishna Rao informed the Assembly on Sunday that the state had constituted a committee headed by the chief secretary in October 2015 to recommend steps for resuming land from the two groups. “We are awaiting the report. The state will proceed as per the measures suggested,” Mr Rao said. He added that out of 43 SEZs set up by the previous governments in Telangana state, mostly around Hyderabad, only 28 were functional.
“We have issued notices to the remaining 15 SEZs for taking back the unutilised land. We have resumed 400 acres of allotted to various firms during the last two years,” Mr Rao said.
