Guntur: A Buddhist site has been discovered atop a hill, Bhairava Gutta, in a tiny village called Putlagudem, in Achampet mandal of Guntur district.
Dr E. Sivanagi Reddy, a Buddhist archaeologist and CEO of The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati, said the site was found near a dilapidated Venkateswara temple. The site had six limestone pillars with half lotus medallions and depicted animals and patterns.
