Thrissur: Poet Attoor Ravi Varma,89, who passed away here on Friday, was cremated with state honours at Paramekkavu Shanti Ghat crematorium at Punkunnam on Sunday afternoon.
People from all walks of life paid their last respects to the poet when his mortal remains were kept at the Sahithya Akademi hall here from 9 a.m to 11 a.m.

Culture Minister A.K. Balan, his cabinet colleagues V.S. Sunil Kumar, A.C. Moideen, C. Ravindranath, Sahithya Akademi president Vaisakhan, secretary K.P. Mohanan and writer Sarah Joseph among others were present.
One of his two sons, who is an engineer in the US, arrived for the funeral on Sunday.
