Chhattisgarh police arrest goat, call it 'repeat offender'
Chhattisgarh: In a bizarre incident, a goat was arrested by Chhattisgarh police in Korea district for allegedly grazing in a bureaucrat's garden.
According to reports, Chhattisgarh police said that the goat jumped over the iron fence of the bureaucrat's house, entered the garden and ate flowers and vegetables. The owner of the house had in the past complained about the goat entering their garden and destroying the flowers and vegetables.
It was the gardener who had brought this incident to the owner's notice, following which the bureaucrat filed a police complaint.
'Upon receiving the complaint, we arrested the goat', said R Srivastava, Assistant Sub-Inspector adding that, 'the owner of the goat was also arrested for trespassing.'
Labeled as 'repeat offender' by the police, the animal was booked under charges that could land it in jail for a minimum term of two years and maximum of up to seven years. The goat was later released on bail.
