Do not mix terrorism and Islam: Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al Talib

The move by some foreign powers to blame people with Islamic names for the terror activities.

KOZHIKODE: The international conference for peace, organised by the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen, has said that no country should encourage terrorist organisations like Al Qaeda, Boko Haram and Islamic State. Imam of Mecca Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al Talib inaugurated the conference and led the evening prayer at Kozhikode beach on Saturday.

“Terrorism is a threat to Islam itself. Islam and terrorism will never go hand in hand. Muslims are unsafe in areas where terrorists flourish. Both are entirely different. Islam means peace. It had countered terrorism from the beginning, especially, Saudi Arabia. Terrorism has no connection with any religion. Do not mix terrorism with Islam,” said Shaikh Saleh bin Mohammed.

“These terrorist organisations are enemies of Islam. Islam does not need the assistance of suicide bombers and terrorists to protect the religion. These outfits only defame the religion,” the meeting stressed. The move by some foreign powers to blame people with Islamic names for the terror activities and defame the religion must be prevented, it said.

Qatar Idul Hyria director Shaikh Ahmed Muhammed Albu Enin made the keynote address. Saudi cultural attache Shaikh Ahmed Ali Al Rumi, Social Justice Minister M.K. Muneer, M.K. Raghavan MP, Mayor VKC Mammed Koya, Swami Sandeepananda Giri and MES state general secretary AOJ Labba spoke.
